At today's session of the Baku Military Court, documents were examined detailing Armenia's deliberate environmental and economic damage to the Republic of Azerbaijan during its aggressive war, as part of the ongoing trial against representatives of the former separatist regime.
Following the liberation of Azerbaijani territories, inspections were conducted across the affected regions, with assessments made for each district and village.
The prosecution presented data outlining the environmental and economic damage inflicted in the districts of Zangilan, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Aghdam, Khojavand, Shusha, Tartar, Lachin, and Kalbajar. The reported damage includes both the destruction of forests and the illegal exploitation of mineral resources.
Photographic evidence submitted to the court shows that trees were deliberately destroyed. Satellite imagery was also presented, revealing illegal mining activity at previously occupied sites, including the extraction of raw materials and ores.
Prosecutors stated that revenues and material assets obtained through looting were used to fund armed groups formed by the Armenian military, including foreign mercenaries. These funds reportedly supported the procurement of weapons, clothing, food, and other resources to enhance the combat capability of armed formations identified as part of criminal organizations.
