Azerbaijani, Iranian FMs mull ties in phone call

A telephone conversation took place between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan that the ministers discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as the situation in the region.

The parties stated the need to resolve, through dialogue and mutual understanding, the recent situation in relations between the two countries, concerns about public rhetoric and other existing problems.

In this context, the ministers noted that establishing contacts between the spokespersons of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs could be useful.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest and noted the importance of continuing contacts.
