FM: Azerbaijan has always remained true to UN basic principles

"Since joining the organization, Azerbaijan has always remained true to the UN basic principles," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said at the opening of the Model UN Conference at ADA University in Baku.

He has noted that this conference is another of a series of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's relations with the UN.

According to the Foreign Minister, Azerbaijan has participated in UN peacekeeping operations and provided assistance during the pandemic.

"Azerbaijan also chairs the Non-Aligned Movement. In parallel with the coronavirus, the world is facing various challenges and problems. In this regard, all the initiatives and actions of Azerbaijan within the Non-Aligned Movement are very important," Bayramov said.

He has emphasized that such simulation conferences allow students to learn more about the activities of the UN and become good diplomats in the future.
