Kalbajar... So many sons have become martyrs; so much blood has been shed for the sake of it. Those, who have reunited us with these ancestral lands, will always remain in our hearts. One of them is martyr-captain Akbar Panahov. Before the Patriotic War, our hero had served in the Material-Technical Supply and Equipment Unit. However, when the war began, he went to the trenches together with his comrades-in-arms to liberate our ancestral lands from the enemy and participated in the battles for the Murovdagh Mountain.
The martyr's mother Mayiga Almammadova: "Probably, he knew he would fight for the land, but he did not reveal it. He was very secretive. Now, we know that my son chose the Motherland, he loved the Motherland."
One of the biggest dreams of our hero was to see the Motherland as whole. He continued his education at military schools, because he had been interested in military service since he was a child. His relatives say that the love for the Motherland had passed on to him through the family. His father Baylar Panahov was a participant of the First Karabakh War.
The martyr's father Baylar Panahov: "Wherever he served, he was loved there. So many people loved him. He used to tell us, "Do not be afraid. Everything will be alright."
He has left behind his sons Rasul and Javidan.
