"The destructive behavior of the Armenian side towards the Azerbaijani cultural heritage is the violation of international law," wrote permanent representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Yashar Aliyev in the letter submitted to the Secretary General of the organization.

It is noted that along with the destructive humanitarian, economic and social consequences of the Armenian aggression, thousands of cultural heritage objects have been damaged. In those areas, cultural and religious monuments have been subjected to vandalism, robbed and destroyed. Numerous proofs showing the horrible scale of destructions and robbery have been discovered in the liberated territories. It is highlighted that the Azerbaijani government will repair and restore all the historical and cultural facilities damaged during the conflict and occupation years. The Secretary General is kindly asked to disseminate this letter as the document of the General Assembly and Security Council.
