"I do not think that the conflict will create complications with our partners. We have special relations with Italy. We have signed the document called "Strategic Partnership Document". My official visit to Italy before the pandemic was very successful, and we came back with very big plans. I am confident that we will execute these plans despite the pandemic," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview to the "La Repubblica" newspaper commenting on the relations with Italy.

The head of state noted that today, Italy is the main trade partner for Azerbaijan on oil supply: "We wll mark the opening of TAP soon, and thus, the Southern Gas Corridor will be completed. Moreover, numerous Italian companies have been successfully operating in Azerbaijan. We are planning to invite more Italian companies as contractors. By the way, here, they have completed a number of important projects on petroleum products, and we have taken part in the opening ceremony with President Mattarella. Therefore, I am sure that this conflict will not affect our relations with Italy and any other country. I am sure about that."
