The sixth Azerbaijani Youth Forum was held in Azerbaijan on October 25. Approximately 2000 young people attended the forum organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

5 Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intigam Babayev congratulated the participants of the forum and spoke about the role of the youth in the economic and cultural development of the state. Head of Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov congratulated the participants on the election of Azerbaijan a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He said this is the success of the diplomacy conducted by official Baku on the regional and global level. President Ilham Aliyev’s statement was read out to the participants of the forum. Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov made a report. Minister said the young people are represented in the government agencies, parliament, business and other structures, contribute to the development of the society. The speakers underlined the importance of the forum. They said it gave an impetus to the state’s strategy on the all-round development of the young generation. The participants said tasks and obligations of the nongovernmental youth organizations, socio-political activeness of the youth, the quality of education, prospects of the young scientists, new projects for the development of the young people studying abroad were discussed during the forum. The first forum of the Azerbaijani youth was held on the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev on February 2, 1996.
