Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia held 3rd Conference

The 3rd conference of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia held in the Tavrichesky Palace in Saint-Petersburg has come to an end. The two-day event was dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of the organization. A film on the activity of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia was screened. Further, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia Leyla Aliyeva addressing the event highlighted the two-year activity of the organization. According to her, the organization has achieved good results over this period and expanded its geographical presence. Azerbaijani youth clubs operate not only in Moscow and St Petersburg, but also in Arkhangelsk, Tver, Ekaterinburg and many other regions of Russia. Leyla Aliyeva stressed that thanks to the Justice for Khojaly campaign more and more people in the world become aware of the Khojaly tragedy committed against the Azerbaijani people. The organization has done a lot for promotion of the Azerbaijani language, history and culture. Also speaking at the ceremony were Azerbaijan Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, Chief of the Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in St Petersburg Alexander Volokh, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference Youth Forum Elshad Isgandarov, Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov, and Consul General of Azerbaijan in St.-Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov. A grandiose concert dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of establishment of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia took place afterwards….. On June 5th, a park constructed in honor of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi was opened in St Petersburg. Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva in her keynote speech underlined the event as another joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Russian representations and St Petersburg Administration. She reminded that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and Vladimir Putin joined the inauguration ceremony of the monument to Nizami Ganjavi in St Petersburg on June 9th, 2002. Leyla Aliyeva underlined that the monument undergone capital repair and granite plaques with scenes from Nizami’s poems on them were placed in the park. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuoghlu, Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Culture of Saint Petersburg Alexander Platunov, Head of the All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis Ilgar Hajiyev and Consul General of Azerbaijan in St.-Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov stressed the importance of the event in terms of strengthening of friendly relations between Azerbaijani and Russian people. Then, the symbolic ribbon was cut and flowers were laid at the monument… On the same day, well-known businessman and singer Emin Agalarov gave a concert in St Petersburg Aurora music hall where he performed songs from his “Wonder” album and new songs…. Thus, the 3rd conference of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia ended. On June 6th, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with Deputy Chairperson of St Petersburg Education Committee Natalia Putilovskaya at school #163, one of the oldest educational institutions of the city. Leyla Aliyeva disclosed the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s plans about establishment of a cultural-educational center at this school testifying to friendly relations of Russia and Azerbaijan. On the same day, Leyla Aliyeva met with St. Petersburg Governess Valentina Matvienko. Azerbaijan-Russia relations were discussed at the meeting. Mrs. Matviyenko expressed her gratitude to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the events organized in St Petersburg. The sides also shared views on future prospects for cooperation.
