Azerbaijani President inspects new Baku cabs

On June 6th President Ilham Aliyev had a look-over at new taxis brought in the capital to improve taxi service in Baku city When inspecting new cars brought in the capital, Minister of Transport Ziya Mammedov informed the head of state about the vehicles. He noted that “Baku Taxi” LLC and London Taxi Company signed a contract on purchase of one thousand TX4 taxies to improve taxi service in the capital Baku. 100 taxies have already been brought in Baku. The other 900 will have been brought by the end of the year. The head of state was given technical parameters of these cars produced to be used exclusively as taxies. Along with conveniences such as two air conditioners and remote light control, the cars have a special access ramp for wheel-chairs and baby carriages. The taxis have pre-installed meters. The taxi drivers will go through special check-up and trainings. They will also wear a single uniform. The 100 taxies already brought to the capital will be dispersed to 11 taxi parking lots. President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the interior of the cars. The head of state himself drove one of the cars. Having inspected the new cars, President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions to speed up modernizations of taxies in the capital and the regions.
