US Ambassador tours southern regions of Azerbaijan
United States Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mathew Bryza has been to Lenkaran. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the region. US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mathew Bryza showed interest in potential of economic, tourism and agrarian sectors of Lenkaran. Head of the Region’s Executive Power Tofig Ibrahimov informed the guest about the perspectives of Lenkaran. The American diplomat said they may support development of agriculture and tourism in the region and that there are big opportunities for collaboration. Mathew Bryza got acquainted with these opportunities in Vilvan village’s tea-packing factory. The guest was told that important projects are realized for restoration of the Lankarani tea's fame. Thanks to state care of and attention to agriculture, tea manufacturing gained an impetus. The Ambassador also visited the American Center in Lenkaran and expressed satisfaction with the conditions created. He also joined the presentation of the book “The Great Theft: Wrestling Islam from the Extremists” newly translated into Azerbaijani. As part of his visit, the Ambassador has also been to Astara region.
