President Ilham Aliyev received the participants of the reporting back meeting of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples held in Baku

 On 16th May President Ilham Aliyev received the participants of the reporting back meeting of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples held in Baku. Highlighting significance of the reporting back meeting of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples that took placed in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev noted that all round and close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, various religious events and reciprocal visits of religious leaders played a great role in consolidating of stability, security and trust in the Caucasus. President Aliyev described the profound path of socio-economic development Azerbaijan has passed in a short period of time, said freedom of conscience, religious and national-spiritual values were given all round support by the state and sacred sanctuaries were protected in the republic. Saying fight against terrorism, extremism and other global problems stood out first for Azerbaijan, the head of state laid a special emphasis on importance of conducting a correct youth policy. Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples, Sheikulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh said the reporting back meeting of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples had been held on a high level and important decisions had been taken. He mentioned Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s services to give support to religious and national-spiritual values in Azerbaijan at the state level and successful continuation of this policy today. He said clergy would do their best to contribute to peace, stability and all round development in the Caucasus. Chairman of the Clerical Office of Muslims of Dagestan, mufti Ahmed Abdullayev, Chairman of the Clerical Office of Muslims of Chechnya, mufti Soltan Mirzayev, Chairman of the Clerical Office of Muslims of the North Osetiya-Alaniya, mufti Hajimurad Gatasalov and Chairman of the Clerical Office of Muslims of Adygey, mufti Nurbin Yemij as well as Abbas Abbasov, Co-Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Interreligious Council of the CIS praised Azerbaijan’s development, adding the clergy would do their best to strengthening of cross-religious dialogue and strengthening of peace and stability in the region. President Ilham Aliyev asked the guests to convey his greetings and best wishes to the North Caucasus countries and wished good luck to the participants of the reporting back meeting of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples.
