Parliamentary delegation to join CIS PA’s session

The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will hold the 36th plenary meeting and commissions of the organization will hold meetings. The delegation led by speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Ogtay Asadov will visit St. Petersburg on the 14th of May. During the 36th plenary session of CIS Parliamentary Assembly discussions mainly will focus on the issues related to legal documents in the fields of science and education. MPs will review responsibilities of participants in education process in member countries as well as legal supply of education improvement system and will discuss model draft laws on “Primary and Vocational Education” and “Distant Education”. Parliamentarians will also make discussions on model rules in fish industry sector in member countries, model draft laws on “Strategic Environmental Assessment”, “Fundamentals of Regulation of Internet” as well as a new draft law on “Annexes to the Convention on Ecological Security”, “Recommendations on Main Directions of Defining Social Policy” and the rules on “The Status of Courts and Judges”. Milli Mejlis Press Secretary Akif Tevekkuloghlu said that parliaments of Azerbaijan and Moldova, results of presidential elections in Belarus and Kazakhstan, international and national election systems, documents of international conferences on road safety will be discussed and organizational issues will be reviewed during the session of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Prior to the plenary session, permanent commissions of the organization on political issues and international cooperation, agrarian policy, natural resources and ecology as well as social policy and human rights will hold meetings. MPS will also consider proposals on designing model draft laws for improvement of national legislation of member countries in 2011-2013. According to Akif Tevekkuloghlu, as part of the visit Ogtay Asadov is expected to meet with heads of delegations attending the session. Azeri MPs are also to attend international scientific conference on 65th anniversary of Nurnberg Process and the 4th Neva international ecological congress.
