International cooperation - important in organization of customs service’s activity

Azerbaijan takes special measures to eliminate negative moments in the State Customs agencies and practices international experience in application of single window system. Development of international relations is a priority issue in this direction. These statements were made during the meeting with visiting Director General of the Customs Service of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Vancho Kargov.

Director General of the Customs Service of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Vancho Kargov visited the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor. The outstanding ophthalmologist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva’s memory was also honored. Further, the guests laid a wreath at the Eternal Fire memorial complex erected at the Alley of Martyrs in honor of those who died for the country’s independence.  Mr. Kargov says that the purpose of his visit is to contribute to developing Macedonia-Azerbaijan relations in terms cooperation in customs sector. We have 20 years’ experience in formation of customs system and we are interested in realization of joint projects and getting acquainted with the technological achievements applied here – he said. At the meeting at the State Customs Committee, Committee Head Aydin Aliyev informed the guest of the socio-economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan that during 20 years of independence gained great achievements in all spheres including the organization of the Customs Committee’s activity in line with modern standards. As a result of the reforms targeting elimination of negative moments in the customs system, now Azerbaijan possesses sound customs service. Modernization of material-technical supply of the customs system and development of international relations are a priority issue. According to Director General of the Customs Service of Macedonia Vancho Kargov, the official customs organization of his country established after the liquidation of former Customs Office of Yugoslavia doesn’t have large international experience. He added that Macedonia seriously approaches both to learning of international practice in organization of customs agencies’ activity and development of its relations with Azerbaijan. Improvement of customs service may contribute to simplification of international trade. The sides exchanged views on joint projects on application of single window system and strengthening of self-control between services.
