The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has realized a new project.

The Ministry presented the National Centre for Digital Certification established to provide e-signature in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Electronic Signature and Electronic Document. The presentation ceremony started with screening of a film on future technologies. Representatives of state bodies, heads of leading ICT companies as well as ICT experts also attended the event where they exchanged views on how innovation processes impact on the development of the country and society. Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov highlighted the importance of the National Centre for Digital Certification that was realized by Ultra, Azerin and Microsoft-Azerbaijan Companies, the winners of the tender. According to the Minister, the works on application of e-signature system in the country has been carried out since 2004. President of Ultra Company Tahir Mirkishili said latest achievements have been applied in the project. Head of General Taxes Department of the Ministry of Taxes Zaur Fatizadeh spoke about application and use of e-services in the country and noted that the Ministry received 1.5 million e-Bill Accounts in 2010 that means saving of 20 tons of paper and 0.5 ha of forest. Note that e-signature cards have been prepared for legal and physical persons. Application of e-signature will lead to development of various sectors.
