‘Azerbaijan can make a distinctive and unique contribution to both Expo movement and the whole world’

“Azerbaijan, as a relatively new and important country in the Expo movement, can make a distinctive and unique contribution to both the Expo movement and the whole world. From this point of view, the city of Baku boasts all the necessary facilities and favorable conditions to host the World Expo in 2025,” said Deputy Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes addressing consultations on Baku`s bid to host World Expo 2025.

The head of the working group on Baku`s bid to host World Expo 2025, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, assistant to the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbayov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center, assistant to the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov and Baku Operational Secretariat for the Expo 2025 attended the event.

During the meeting, Kerkentzes was informed of the preparatory works carried out in Azerbaijan within the framework of Baku's bid to host Expo 2025.
