President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on 18th April a Latvian delegation led by Minister of Internal Affairs Linda Murniece.  Receiving a delegation led by Latvian Minister of Internal Affairs Linda Murniece, the Head of State said the visit program of Mrs. Murniece to Azerbaijan covers broad range of meetings and events. The President expressed assurance this visit would be successful. President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the first visit of the high-ranking Latvian delegation to Azerbaijan after his trip to Riga. The Head of State expressed satisfaction with dynamic development and expansion of cooperation between the two countries. The President underlined the necessity of developing relations in all directions in accordance with the agreement reached with his Latvian counterpart in Riga. President Aliyev said the visit of the Latvian Interior Minister to Azerbaijan was important for expansion of bilateral ties. Minister of Internal Affairs of Latvia Linda Murniece conveyed greetings of Latvian President Valdis Zatlers to the Head of State. She recalled President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Riga and her previous meetings with the Head of State. The interior Minister expressed confidence her meetings in Baku would be significant for development of relations. President Aliyev asked the Minister to pass on his greetings to Latvian President Valdis Zatlers.
