Baku hosted Azerbaijan-Jordan business forum and meeting of intergovernmental commission

The delegation led by Industry and Trade Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani Al-Mulki visiting Azerbaijan has attended business forum of Azerbaijani and Jordanian businessmen held at Baku Business Center and the meeting of the intergovernmental commission.   The delegation headed by Industry and Trade Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani Al-Mulki visited the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor…The outstanding ophthalmologist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva’s memory was also honored… Further, the guests laid a wreath at the Eternal Fire memorial complex erected at the Alley of Martyrs in honor of those who died for the country’s independence… Prior to the forum, the Jordanian delegation were introduced to the exhibition organized at Baku Business Center that reflected the socio-economic achievements of Azerbaijan. Afterwards, the Azerbaijan-Jordan business forum started. Along with officials from both countries, about 50 businessmen joined the forum. Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev’s speech at the forum covered economic achievements of Azerbaijan. Trade Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani Al-Mulki in his speech stressed the importance of enhancement of relations between business people from both countries for boosting economic ties of Jordan with Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the business forum, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Azerbaijan National Confederation of Entrepreneurs and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce. Hani Al-Mulki said that a Jordan House of Commerce was planned to be launched in Azerbaijan and an Azerbaijani House of Commerce in Jordan. Realization of the discussed issues will be beneficial for both countries. Further, the 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the Azerbaijani government and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on commercial, economic and technical cooperation took place. During the meeting discussions focused on current state and development perspectives of the Azerbaijan-Jordan cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, investment, industry and energy, information and communication technologies, agriculture, customs, transport, culture and tourism, education, health and others. The Jordanian Minister Hani Al-Mulki said his country was interested in broadening its relations with Azerbaijan. Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev stressed both countries possessed big potential in this regard and said that documents have been signed on education and ICT sector after the 1st meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission held in Amman and an agreement was reached on signing documents on veterinary, agriculture, customs, trade, air transport sectors. In conclusion, a protocol was signed between the Azerbaijani government and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the outcomes of the 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental commission on commercial, economic and technical cooperation.
