Sattar Bahlulzade is one of the most famous masters in Azerbaijan 's art history. Years after his death his work and fascination of his paintings are still attracting art lovers.
This film is a wordless internal dialog of the Master and Nature. Most of his works are being screened in this film where every painting is like a living piece of nature. Film consists of the scenes of his work inside and outside the workshop. At the end of film we are show some self-portraits of Sattar Bahlulzade so that the audience can get an answer maybe to one of the many questions: “How did the master see and pictured himself?”

On November the 3rd of year 1982 an unusual event took place in Nakhchivan. Great Azerbaijani poet Huseyn Cavid (1882-1941) on his 100 th birthday, 41 years after his death, was buried in his motherland. This film tells us about his hard and sometimes unfair life. Unforgettable master of word was one of the thousands of talented people of Azerbaijan that became repression victims at thirties of past century. Because of never-ending chases and many arrests he had to stop his creative work. In 1939 he was exiled to Irkutsk , Siberia and in 1941, while still in exile, poet passed away in faraway lands. But despite these all he still had left a treasury of words to the future generations. His poem “Azerbaijan”, dramas “Ana” (Mother), “Peyghember” (The Prophet), “Topal Teymur” (Great Teymur), tragedy “Sheykh Senan” and other works are being read and appreciated among both, old and young generation. Film is based on the memories of Gulam Memmedli, Jafar Remzi Ismayilzade, Taghi Taghiyev, Nigar Gasimova and Reshid Feteliyev who had met and knew great poet in person. His daughter, the only alive member of his family at the moment, Turan Cavid, also shares her memories of her father with us. Episodes from the TV play of his masterpiece drama “Iblis” (Satan) and sequences from expedition work of the Azerbaijani team looking for poet's grave at Sevchenko village of Irkutsk region also take place in this film.Final scenes of the film are from the opening ceremony of the poet's monument, made by Omer Eldarov, from the present Huseyn Cavid Avenue.

A film about Ibrahim Ahrari, a German resident with Azerbaijani roots.
I. Ahrari was born in Urmiya, Southern Azerbaijan. This is where his interest towards painting starts. In 1956 he enters Tabriz Art School, but the political situation in Iran at that time and his parents' disapproval makes him live the school. In 1966 Ibrahim Ahrari goes to Germany, where he starts to live and finishes the Graphic-Design Faculty. From 1975 he starts to work for German Painters Association. Mr. Ahrari is one of the founders of the Azerbaijan-German Culture Association established in 1988.
His main aim is to introduce and spread Azerbaijan culture and language to the World. As in the Azerbaijan culture horse is the symbol of aim, heroism and pride, many scenes of wild horses as well as the artist's paintings with horses take place in this film.
His biggest wish is to see Azerbaijan as a whole, prospecting and proud.
His paintings are mostly in abstract and surreal style.

Being filmed in a patriotic-call genre “Ezabli Qurtulush” represents those hard days of year 1993 when thousands of our fellow-countrymen had to leave their homes and lands running away from the cruel Armenian policy. Newly formed refugee camps of that time, sorrowful times of starving children of Azerbaijan , longing for food and water reflects on the screen. We see elders from various regions of Azerbaijan giving their advice to the sons of motherland; hear the calls of soldiers towards their nation, filled with the spirit of fight.
Even though 11 years passed from the shooting of the film this subject is topical for the present time too. Because 20% of the Azerbaijan lands is still under Armenian occupation and thousands of refugees still live in bad condition.
That's why the patriotic emotions and fighting spirit never dim in our hearts.

Film tells about the events in Baku in 1990. On the night from 19 th to 20 th of January Soviet Armed Forces illegally entered Baku city. Hundreds of peaceful citizens were injured and killed from weapons and armors in those days. 20 th of January became a day to show the true faces of chauvinist leaders of Soviet Union and a day written with bloody letters to Azerbaijan's history. 20 th of January was Azerbaijan nations big step towards freedom and independence. Those who lost and gave their life in this path to Independent Azerbaijan will live in our hearts forever.

08.05.1992. Shusha never has seen such tragic. The city which was called Azerbaijan 's conservatory was in ruins. One of the treasures of Shusha, Govher Tower Mosque, all of the museums, that held its history were destroyed. Many Azerbaijanis were taken hostage.
17.05.1992. Eagle land of Azerbaijan, Garabagh's support wall Lachin was in flames of enemy. Lachin, which was not an administrative part of Daghligh Garabagh, was totally occupied by Armenian Armed Forces.

Film deals with Meshedi Muhammed, who was the master performer of classical wind instrument – clarinet. Brought up in a poor family, and bearing with difficulties from childhood Meshedi Muhammed hadn't got a chance to have any musical education. However, he spent many years working over his musical instrument and in a search for pure, beautiful melody managed to be the master of his activity. Some of his melodies are played in the movie and the auditory can feel the wideness of master's heart by hearing his melancholic music. Rafig Babayev played a big role in the production of this film. It was him who noticed Meshedi Muhammed's talent and wanted to let whole Azerbaijan to hear it. But unfortunately Rafig Babayev passed away before film was screened. That's why this film is also made in the memory of Rafig Babayev.

In 1730 in the highland called Pirghat a group of Jewish people went to Guba khan Feteli and asked him to permit them to settle in Guba. From that day to now on Jewish people are living in Guba region. They have their own commune in Azerbaijan ; print their newspaper called “Aziz”, which deals with events in Azerbaijan and Israel and created organizations of young people that teaches Jewish culture and language. Besides learning their culture, Azerbaijan Jewish also learns with great pleasure Azeri language, culture and events that took place here.
Names of Academician Landau, director of the Physic Institute Esmanov, Azerbaijan People's Artist Rahil Ginzburg, and director of the Toxicology Center professor Eldar Gori are well known among Azerbaijanis. And name of Albert Agarunov, Azerbaijan 's National Hero who fought in the war against Armenian invaders, will always live in the heart of Azerbaijanis.
Jewish people's attitude towards religion, their activities for the development of Azerbaijan, how they spend their leisure time – this all are shown in this film.

Film deals with Azerbaijan Mugham and folk songs skilful performer Nisim Nisimov. His singularity is that he is the first singer-performer among the Guba Jewish. When he sings in Azeri no one can tell him apart, whether he is a native Azeri or not. It is because Nisimov is very connected to Azerbaijan with his whole heart.
By his words, Azerbaijan Mugham is an endless ocean for him and he can not imagine his life without Mugham. He has been to many countries; especially he spread the magic and miracle of Azerbaijan Mugham among the citizens of USA and Canada 's biggest cities.
Some of his folk song performances are used in the film, accompanied with the beautiful Guba nature.

Leyla Memmedova was a living legend even when she was still alive. In 1932 for the first time in Baku there was established an aero club. There she toughed young pilots how to fly and helped them to go up in their skills.
She is the only women in Azerbaijan pilots' history who managed to educate tens of stuff.
Mikayil Mikayilov's feature film “Ismet” made in 1933 is dedicated to her. When the Second World War started she promised that would create her own team and fly with them to the battle filed. But she wasn't allowed there, because at that time she was also mother of 4 children. However, she managed to open a parachutist school. During the years of war she prepared over four thousand parachutist-paratroopers and pilots. Two of them were honored by the name of Soviet Union Hero for their bravery.
Chronicle materials and parts of film “Ismet” are used in this film. Also memories of children of the first women pilot took place in “Leyla”.

Second World War brought up women who were the symbol of manhood and valour. Azeri girls, Azeri pilots like Leyla and Zuleykha. It was a never seen event for that time. Each of them had a path: profound, meanful and romantic.

Film is dedicated to Zuleykha Seyidmemmedova , Azerbaijan 's military pilot, air captain, and graduate of Baku aero club. Zuleykha khanum was the graduate of Military Air Academy named after Jukoyski. During II World War she was in up to 500 military actions. Zuleykha khanum, who was the navigator of the air regiment during war, worked very hard for the sake of girl-pilots military training and showed an example. After she left army she didn't keep herself from the society. For many years she worked as the Minister of Social Maintenance, and representative of Azerbaijan in various foreign countries. She passed away just before this film was finished. But with this film her second life – literary life, has began in the hearts of people.

During II World War fascist Germany managed to turn even blue skies into a battle field. The terror of the war was reaching Azerbaijan too, and against its will our country turned into an active participant of this terror. Hundred thousands of children of Azerbaijan were fighting in the battle-front.
This film is dedicated to battle path of Azerbaijan 's military pilots, Huseyn Aliyev, Jahangir Baghirov, Asef Semedov, and Mezahir Abbasov, whose names became legendary. Pilots' memories, also chronicles of military battles during II World War are included into this film.

Film is dedicated toTamilla Khudayarova, Honoured Artist and beautiful dance performer. Some part of the film plot was taken in her practice room where she spends countless of hours practicing dances trying to make every move a perfect. Despite the fact of being in dance activity for many years Tamilla Khudayarova works on new dancing numbers with the help of dance teachers, listening to their advices very carefully, following their instructions, and as a result a beautiful dance performance by Tamilla khanum comes on stage.
She is one of the people who protects and develops traditions of Azerbaijan folk dance. However she performs dances of other countries with the same professionalism too. Her dance performances accompanied by folk song “Garabagh marali”, Tofig Guliyev's musical piece “Darikhma”, Jahangir Jahangirov's musical piece “Garabagh lovheleri”, Niyazi's musical piece “Arzu” are used in the film.

Baku was always a city that combined in itself cultures of many places around the world. Together with examples of oriental architecture, such as Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahlar complex, and many beautiful mosques, there are also many architecture buildings and monuments from various cultural epochs of West. Film deals with the ancient monuments that are situated in the streets of Baku, and symbols and patterns on the architecture buildings with a hundred years old history. While watching the film spectators feel themselves as if they are traveling in the ancient cities of France, Italy, and Austria. The plot of the film consists of four parts. In the first part there are monuments and symbols from Renaissance epoch of West Europe, in the second part from Renaissance epoch as a whole, in the third part from epoch of Classicism. The last part of the film consists of the street and building views of modern Baku.

Film deals with the ethnography, folklore and ecomomy of Tovuz, successor of ancient Oghuz. Lands of Tovuz start on the down-meadows of the Smal Caucasus Mountains and go until Mountain Choban on the southern part of the Big Caucasus Mountains. Tovuz land is considered as the joint-place of the lowlands with highlands and summer with winter. One side of these lands is River Kura, and other side is River Gavri, coming from mountains of Georgia and joining Kura River . Between these rivers there are wide pastures and valleys. In total there are four rivers crossing Tovuz district – Tovuz River , Akhinchi River , Asrik River and Leyen River . They also make four valleys – Tovuz valley, Aghdam valley, Asrik valley and Khinna valley. Each valley has its own beauty, nature, hamlets. View of mountain ranges and rocks with their sublimity attracts attention in the film. Also in the film there are used images of Hacha Rock, Koroghlu Castle and Sultan Bridge built in XVII century. These historical monuments speak about the antiquity, rich traditions of the Tovuz land. Not only ancient, but also, modern Tovuz finds itself place in this film - its present economical potential, many educational and production institutions; trade, construction companies. On these rich lands people grow fruits, vegetables, grain, melons and grouds.

Carpet-making is one of the antique types of art in Azerbaijan . While watching Azerbaijan carpets it's possible to read them as a book or script. Number of carpet compositions only in Northern Azerbaijan is 114. And it is not surprising, because Turk nations used to have a migrant life traveling from Gar East to present lands where Azerbabaijan and other Turk nations live. And elements gathered from each place reflects in the ancient ethnography, tales, myths, totems, various patterns of Azerbaijan carpets. This film is dedicated to Hadji Eldar Mikayilov, carpet-painter. It deals with the creation history of masters “Shabu-Hidjran” carpet, dedicated to great poet Mehemmed Fuzuli and many of his future works in process.

Film is dedicated to Arif Babayev, People's Artist and distinguished singer. Arif Babayev is one of the many talents of rich Garabgh land. Still in his youth artisan was in touch with distinguished artists as Khan Shushinski, Zulfi Adigozelov, Mutallim Mutallimov, Seyid Shushinski and benefited from their art, learned secrets of mugham. Today Arif Babayev is their decent successor. Singer is working as a teacher at the conservatory since 1984. On his own initiative he established a mugham class, gained the first title of Mugham Professor. Arif Babyev who thinks of Mugham and Islam as one has been to Makka, Karbala and Meshedi cities. Fragments from his abroad concert tours and few songs taped in nature's lap are used for the film.

A TV play based on “ Eyya Island ”, a story by Rebiyye Seyyadi. Main character of the film is Suleyman, cameraman of “Videofilm” Studio. Being a creative person Suleyman is always in a search for his new heroes. Angels often visit him; give him advice about how to start a new life. But he can never get advantage from this advice. Strange things happening around Suleyman does not interest him anymore. His thoughts are locked in various mazes. And even he himself doesn't know when it all has started – a year, a month or a day ago.
Some heroes from Homere's poem “Odyssey” are entered as characters to the film.

Film deals with Novruz , Azerbaijan 's national feast. Director divided film plot into four lines. Each line is dedicated to one of the four main Tuesdays of this feast – Water, Wind, Land, Fire Tuesdays. As film is made in observation style, many frames of preparations for the feast at the various districts of Azerbaijan are taped, where each region makes traditional pre-feast preparations. Interesting side of the film is that director expressed coming of spring not in the traditional way – as a Maiden of Spring, but as a boy dreseed in white and riding a white horse.
At the end of the film celebration climate reaches Baku, at its Icheri Sheher with music, dances and tables with traditional Novruz sweets and food.

Film was taped on the eve of 70th anniversary of Azerbaijan 's People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade. Poet who was born in Sheki started his creativity with poetry dedicted to his own land. Primary tests and words of his work are coming from motherland and nation. Having a strong poetic mind and inspiration Bakhtiyar Vahabzade is one of our poets who gained national love. His work is a brave poetry that speaks about spiritual world, centuries-old history of his nation. His famous words: “To live is to burn, you have to burn yourself” describes his whole life. He was with his nation in their joy and sorrow, supporting them. He raised himself in the eyes of people not only as a poet, but also as a person with beautiful moral qualities. He is one of the most outstanding poets of both, Azerbaijan and whole Turk World.

Film deals with “El tikmeleri” (Hand embroidery) museum at Icheri Sheher. This museum was established with inintiative of Elmira Abbasova. And all the exhibits at this museum are her works. Elmira khanum spend a great part of her life for applied decorative art. Every single thing, ornament and national clothes that were used at past times has its own place at the museum. Every single thing at museum stands out with special taste and accuracy. Every exhibit reflects internal world of Elmira khanum. Silence of museum takes you into world of fairy tales. Tells you its own history, its own tale. Usually we read about such things in history books. But in this museum every exhibit is a history by itself. Each thing in the musem acquaints visitors with Azerbaijan nations past. That's why most of the visitors are foreigners. Elmira khanums grandmother played great role in her achievements in this are of art. Every word and tale told by her grandmother, their converstions, all of them have their special role in Elmira khanum's hand works.

Film is dedicated to composer Faraj Karayev. Director had put hero's way of life into foreground. Faraj Karayev decided to continue his father's, great composer's work. But some question always disturbed him in his years of creativity. Has he chosen the right path, can he be a worthy follower of his father? That's why Faraj Karayev doesn't have many compositions. Composer spent one part of his life in Moscow city. In that period he often visited Baku to be engaged in creativity and here, in his native city created new compositions and works. In Faraj Karayev's opinion he became a full composer after writing “Sonat for two performers” in 1976. In this film fragments from Faraj Karayev's “Sevgi deryasinda seyahet”, “emli gejenin gisa melodiyasi” and “1971-ji ilin serenadasi” compositions are being sounded.

This film is about general Samad bey Mehmandarov, who had a contrasting and hard life path and who showed unexampled bravery at 1905 Russian-Japan War and World War I. He was one of those people who rendered peerless service in the establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. It was Samad bey Mehmandarov who created the base of Azerbaijan State Security system and our National Army.

Inje valley is situated at Gazakh region near Georgian border. Kemerli-kimer, Gaymagli-gamak, Aslanbeyli-inju villages at the shore of Inji River has kept their original way of life till present days. An example of Azerbaijan folk music “Gim-gima” is also connected with Inja valley. Tomb of Haji Mahmud effendi, successor of Sufi sect, which is the saint sanctuary of local people of this region, was also taped in this television film.

Film deals with the life of notable representative of Sufi literature Mir Hamza effendi. He was born in Jijimli village of Karabagh in the family of Mir Ruknegin effendi in 1795 and died in 1886 in Turkey . “Divan” work of Mir Hamza, who on his will was buried in the lands of “Shirvan mosque” of Amasiya city, was published after his death in Tbilisi, Istanbul and Baku. As the successor of Nagshibend wave he preferred classical examples of poetry such as terjin, terjibend and gita.

Abdulla Babayev is the skilful performer of folk songs and our mughams. 80 years old People's Artist who lives in Nakhchivan delivers pearls of our music treasury to people in his own way.

Creative crew of the film who tried to show hero's portrait without decoration, with its all shades used natural noise sounds as background music instead of melodies.
