Film about Khojaly genocide receives acclaim at international festivals

The short film entitled "26.02.92" dedicated to Khojaly genocide and produced by Azerbaijan Television has received awards at a number of influential international festivals. The film has received acclaim on the Best Leading Actor, artist work, makeup, the Best Film about a Woman and other nominations.

The film, which has received acclaim on several nominations in Turkey, as well as at the “Crown Wood” International Film Festival in India, is also expected to receive influential awards in the U.S. and European countries. “Andromeda” and Hollywood independent cinematographers  festivals are also one of them.

According to director of the film Elvin Ahmadoghlu, taking part in such festivals is important for promoting Azerbaijan on the international arena from a different point of view, as well as delivering the truth about the Armenian atrocities and lies to the wider public.

In an interview to AzTV.az, leading actress Munavvar Aliyeva expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with the technical and artistic crew of the film and noted that she enjoyed working with this team. The actress emphasized that the film produced by Azerbaijan Television and broadcast in Armenian as well reflected her inner world and that her relatives also became IDPs during the Karabakh conflict and she felt Khojaly pain deeply. She said that the film was result of the joint labor of art lovers.

The scriptwriter and director of the film is Elvin Ahmadoghlu, artist Faridbay Karimov, makeup artist Eldar Israfilov, video editor Ahmad Gasimov, visual graphics specialist Rovshan Abiyev, assistant director Novruz Mammadov, executive producer Zamig Alovsatoghlu, project manager Ranar Musayev.
