Son of Interior Minister of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic Mustafa bey Vakilov, Nadir Vakiloglu, who lives in Turkey, has given a video interview to Azerbaijan Television (AzTV).

N. Vakiloglu has shared the memories about his father.

"My father Mustafa bey Vakilov was a person who loved his Motherland and did everything for it. I am immensely proud of him. Due to the fact that I lost him at an early age, I did not have an opportunity to talk to him about Azerbaijan, what he did, and learn everything. However, I have seen that he was struggling for the Motherland," N.Vakiloglu said.

He noted that Mustafa bey Vakilov could not hold his tears when he heard the word "Azerbaijan": "My father ideologically led the Azerbaijani Turks in Turkey for many years. At every meeting, he made very special statements. I also experienced the moments when I could not hold my tears, when I heard the words "Motherland", "Azerbaijan". Homesickness was his biggest sorrow. He wanted to see his Motherland free. He told us very shortly about what he experienced during the Russian occupation, what he suffered from, how he had to move to Turkey. I learnt the details from what he had written and other people. I am an Azerbaijani, I want to come where my father was born and raised."
