Assistance to be rendered to elderly people who are alone, in need of help

"Volunteers of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) will help elderly people who are lonely and in need of help," deputy chairman of YAP Ali Ahmadov said in an interview to AzTV.

According to him, the above-mentioned campaign will be implemented together with social workers of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population: "Volunteers together with social workers of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population will render necessary assistance and support to elderly people living alone and in need of help who do not leave their house in accordance with the requirements of the quarantine regime. For this purpose, YAP's 200 volunteers from Baku and 550 across Azerbaijan have expressed readiness in implementing this. Their names and lists have already been submitted to the Ministry."

The YAP deputy chairman has also announced how people in need of help will be identified: "There are people whom the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population has helped so far; they will be helped. Moreover, the local institutions of YAP have been instructed to render assistance in case people appeal for assistance.

Thus, such people will be prevented from going outside in order to stop them from being infected with the coronavirus."
