The evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens from Turkey in connection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is underway.

According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey, from March 15 to 17, AZAL and THY Airlines delivered 1, 255 Azerbaijani citizens, including babies, from Ankara and Istanbul cities to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The last plane took off from Istanbul yesterday at 21:00 local time.

It is noteworthy that a hot line operates at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara, the General Consulates in Istanbul and Kars cities in order to answer questions of Azerbaijani citizens in Turkey. The diplomatic representations work in a non-stop work regime due to the process. The evacuation process is planned to be continued.
