Azerbaijan-Georgia border to close for 10 days beginning on March 14

On March 13, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov and Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia had a telephone conversation in connection with the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, by mutual agreement of the heads of government a decision was made to close the state border between Azerbaijan and Georgia for all means of transport for a period of 10 days beginning at 00.00, March 14, 2020, in order to ensure safety and protect health of citizens of both countries. A corridor will be ensured during this period to allow citizens of Azerbaijan and Georgia to return to their countries. Cargo transportation will also be allowed through a dedicated transit corridor.
