"Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) has made a documentary in connection with Sumgayit events that took place in 1988.

Rare video-archival materials have been used in the preparation of the documentary entitled "Code name: Hijacker"; interviews from responsible people of the time, secret documents have been included in the documentary. You can familiarize yourselves with the interrogation of ringleader of the gang Eduard Grigoryan, his testimonies proving his guilt.

The film will be broadcast today at 21:30 on AzTV.

It is noteworthy that as a result of the bloody scenario carried out in Sumgayit on February 27-29, 1988, overall 32 Azerbaijani citizens, including 6 Azerbaijanis and 26 Armenians, were murdered; hundreds of apartments were robbed; more than 50 cultural-household facilities were destroyed.
