“A state visit reflects the highest level of relations between countries,” head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Administration of Azerbaijan President Hikmat Hajiyev said on the “Week” analytical-information program of Azerbaijan Television.

H. Hajiyev revealed the nature of a state visit: “If we classify visits between countries, here, state visits are in the first place. After that, official visits come, then official working visits, working visits, guest visits and personal visits.

State visits are followed by special protocol regulations, diplomatic ceremonies. Here, special ceremonies are organized in accordance with traditions and customs, rules of each country. The main aim here is to determine the highest level of interstate relations and demonstrate and determine once again the highest level of cooperation.”

The head of the Department of the Presidential Administration noted that the fact that President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the Republic of Italy is carried out at the level of a state visit reflects the highest level of the relations between Italy and Azerbaijan: “In 2018, the Italian President paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. Such mutual visits envisage the highest level of the ties between our countries. When we look at the ceremonies and protocol events carried out within the framework of the head of state’s visit to the Republic of Italy, we see that every element shows the friendship between Italy and Azerbaijan. The welcoming ceremony, even the farewell ceremony, the meetings organized at a high level and so on.”
