Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has met with chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy Giuseppe Conte. 

During the meeting, it was noted that the two countries successfully cooperate in the field of energy and that the TAP project, which is the last segment of the Southern Gas Corridor, has entered the last stage this year. It was also highlighted that Italian companies actively participate in the development of Azerbaijan's non-oil sector and the diversification of its economy. At the same time, it was emphasized that the business forum, that will take place on February 21, will create great opportunities. 

It was underlined that Italy supports the development of the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union and NATO. 

During the meeting, the cooperation in the fields of science-education, student exchange and tourism was also discussed. 

Heydar Aliyev's role in the development of the cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Italy was especially highlighted. 

The Azerbaijani President has invited the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy to an official visit.
