29 January edition of Azerbaijan Television’s “Main Topic” program was dedicated to the current state of the public control mechanism in the country.

The guests of the program were coordinator of the Open Government Platform Alimammad Nuriyev, chairman of the Executive Committee of the League for the Protection of Citizens’ Labor Rights Sahib Mammadov, chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Umid Mirzayev, coordinator of the Public Committee under the Ministry of Justice Saadat Banayarli, chairman of the Public Union for the Development of Citizens’ Relations Ahmad Abasbayli, head of the National Non-governmental Organizations Forum Rauf Zeyni.

The program participants exchanged views on the situation of the public control mechanism in Azerbaijan and the methods which need to be applied for increasing the efficiency of the mechanism.

Ensuring the public participation in the management and why public councins are not created at state institutions were mulled.
