The memory of January 20 martyrs was commemorated with one-minute silence on January 20 at 12:00 Baku time across entire Azerbaijan.

Signals were played from ships, cars and trains. In accordance with the Plan of Events on the occasion of the Bloody January Tragedy, commemoration ceremonies have been held in all cities and regions, villages and settlements, institutions and facilities of the republic; the state flag has been lowered as a sign of mourning. The people have been visiting the Alley of Martyrs from the early hours of January 20, honor the memory of the children of the Motherland, lay carnations in front of their graves.
