While receiving Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev asked about the state of the taxi service in the country and gave instructions in this field.

Minister R. Guluzade said that more attention should be paid to this field in regions: "There are transport vehicles not meeting the standards, and we carry out works in this direction."

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized: "I am giving you the instruction to seriously analyze these works. How many taxis operate in each city? What is the quality level of taxi cars? How is security ensured? How is payment made?

We should work so that the modern taxi service exists in all our cities, and first of all, in our large cities. Modern taxi stops, the preparation of drivers, their medical examination must be ensured. Like in all fields, we should also transfer from the cash payment to the card payment; taximeters should be set up. It means not only in Baku, but first of all, in big cities and later, in other cities."
