"I want salaries and pensions to grow faster," said President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev addressing the meeting on the outcomes of the cotton-growing season and the measures to be taken in 2020. 

He recalled that the problems of the citizens, who were in a destitute situation after the devaluation, had been solved: "Benefits have increased – some benefits by 50%, and some benefits have grown twice. The minimum salary has grown twice, the minimum pension has increased by more than 70%. Today, Azerbaijan is in the first place in the CIS zone in accordance with the purchasing power of the minimum pension. This is the statistics. Surely, I have said it and want to say once again, I want salaries and pensions to grow faster. However, to achieve this, our economic opportunities should also expand. It depends on the economic opportunities, as well as the beneficial organization of the work in every field".
