The opening of the new project of Azerbaijan Television "Madaniyyat" (Culture) channel – the First All-Republic Festival of the Classical Vocalists was held at the Azerbaijani State Academic Philarmony named after Muslim Magomayev on December 17th.

The main objective of the Festival organzied with the support of the Ministry of Culture is to develop and promote the Azerbaijani classical vocal music and form a high musical taste of the youth.

Addressing the opening ceremony,  director of "Madaniyyat" channel, honorable artist Ramil Gasimov spoke about the significance of the Festival that is held in our country for the first time. Talking about the rich history of the classical vocal school in Azerbaijan, R. Gasimov said that our great luminaries played an exceptional role in passing this art to new generations. It was noted that today, the state shows great support for the development of culture and all genres of music in our country.

The director of "Madaniyyat" channel highlighted that such projects serve the development of our culture and its promotion and steps in this direction would be further continued.

The event continued with the concert program.  

Within the framework of the Festival to be run until December 24th, the Azerbaijani and world classical musical masterpieces will be presented by famous Azerbaijani vocalists, as well as talented young people, at cultural centers of various cities and regions.
