"We closely follow the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan. We support reforms in the field of the diversification of economy and expect that the staff changes will soon lead to real economic changes and reforms," said head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas on the "Target" program of Azerbaijan Television.

K. Jankauskas noted that there is always a need for reforms, and they are inevitable: "Reforms mean the adaptation to the ongoing processes in our and other countries. They are inevitable. Azerbaijan has long relied on oil, gas, natural resources, and it is still like this. Nevertheless, we see that great attention has been paid to the diversification of economy, and a lot of investments are made: highlighting human resources and ensuring the participation of the society. Everybody needs to make their contribution. There is no other solution to it. We support this diversification. It reflects on the Eastern Partnership and our bilateral programs. We have joint projects with almost all institutions of Azerbaijan, both civil society and NGOs.

Currently, additional reforms are being carried out. I consider that along with social reforms, they create a good basis for faster, deeper and broader economic reforms, and it is commendable. We are ready to help".

The EU representative highlighted that the work on the new agreement was underway: "It will create an opportunity for us to speed up the negotiations and complete them as soon as possible. I believe that more wide projects will be implemented after the execution of these reforms".
