This Azerbaijani Minister's two sons fought against each other in war

The next edition of Azerbaijan Television's "People of 100 Years" program has been dedicated to Azerbaijan's first Finance Minister Abdulali bay Amirjanov.

According to AzTV's Social Media and PR Department, the important and interesting facts about Amirjanov's life, who established Azerbaijan's first bank, initiated customs taxes, made sacrifices in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, have been presented. 

It is noteworthy that after the collapse of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the Minister left the country together with his family. While the Amirjanov family was getting on the ship, the police did not allow the Minister's son Murad to leave. His other son Fuad grew up with Abdulali in Istanbul. Years later, they fought against each other. Thus, Murad participated in the Second World War on the USSR's side, he was awarded medals. In turn, Fuad Amirjan joined the legionaries on Germany's side and fought against the USSR. The family members could reunite only in 1968. At that time, Abdulali bay was no longer alive.

Researchers, his successors living in Baku, his grandchild residing in Paris Alev Amirjan will talk about the family drama of Azerbaijan's first Finance Minister.
