The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is carrying out the renovation-repair works of the Ashaghi Govhar agha, Yukhari Govhar agha and Saatli mosques in Shusha city. 

The architect of all the 3 mosques is Karbalayi Safikhan Karabakhi, and these mosques are on the list of the significant historical-cultural monuments of the country. 

During the Armenian occupation of Shusha, along with numerous historical-cultural monuments, these mosques were also subjected to vandalism. The interior design of Yukhari Govhar agha mosque has been destroyed, the decor of the domes has been damaged, the facade has been destructed. The estoration of the mosque at the first stage has been completed, restoration works at the second stage are underway. At this stage, the stones of the mosque are changed in accordance with the initial project. A destroyed madrasa in the territory of the mosque will also be restored.

Evaluation works are underway with the participation of foreign experts in Ashaghi Govhar agha mosque subjected to destructions during the occupation. 

Saatli mosque was subjected to destructions after the Armenians occupied Shusha city. Currently, experts are investigating the situation in the mosque.
