"The Karabakh issue has always been on the agenda of the country. The Nagorno-Karabakh issue has always been the priority during my speeches at all international events. Today's Azerbaijan is indeed new Azerbaijan," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the conference "New vision to the South Caucasus: development and cooperation after the conflict" held at ADA University.  

The head of state said that the Armenians do not know us well: "They thought that they would wage a war with us like in 1992. However, Azerbaijan is different, the society is different. They thought that time would pass and everybody would be tired, nobody would want a war. There were this kind of speculations in international media." 

President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is a multinational country, and during the Patriotic War, people from various ethnicities fought until the last drop of their blood.
