Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture meets with heads of TV channels

Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Anar Karimov met with the heads of TV channels operating in Azerbaijan on February 16. 

Chairman of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC Rovshan Mammadov, head of Real TV Mirshahin Aghayev, Director General of the Public Television Balakishi Gasimov, chief of Space TV Kamil Shahverdiyev, head of Khazar TV Murad Dadashov, head of Azad Azerbaijan TV channel Azer Khalilov, chief of CBC TV channel Vugar Khalilov, head of ARB TV Radik Ismayilov and representative of Lider TV Nazkhanim Baghirova took part in the meeting. 

First, the meeting participants familiarized themselves with the exhibition entitled "The Azerbaijani art throughout millenia". Afterwards, the meeting continued in a roundtable format with the exchange of views. Anar Karimov congratulated the heads of the TV channels on the National Television Day marked on February 14, He noted that TV plays a great role in the development of the society and strengthening of the national unity. 

Anar Karimov also talked about the reforms carried out at the Ministry of Culture. The Minister highlighted the importance of the support of TV channels for presenting the reforms and innovations applied in the field of culture to the society in accordance with the tasks of the head of state. 

He listened to the proposals of the meeting participants in connection with the promotion of the cultural field.

During the discussions, the heads of the TV channels expressed their opinions regarding certain issues. They underlined the significance of the licensing of musical works by the Intellectual Property Agency. 

Touching upon this issue, the Minister said that a working group will be created soon, and certain steps are taken in this direction. According to him, these proposals will be taken into consideration. The implementation of these proposals will make a contribution to the activity of both the Ministry and TV channels.
