The next edition of “The People of 100 Years” program broadcast on AzTV is dedicated to great geologist Farman Salmanov.

According to the Social Media and PR Department of AzTV, the project crew has had a conversation with the geologist’s wife Tamara Salmanova who has never given an interview to Russian TV channels before. 

T.Salmanova has said that her husband posthumously received numerous awards. However, according to her, he did not receive this recognition while being alive. She has noted that they did not even have money to repair their house in Azerbaijan. A person, who was holding a ministerial position in Azerbaijan, helped the Salmanovs on this issue.

The identity of that minister and other exclusive details about Farman Salmanov will be revealed on “The People of 100 Years” program on February 28 at 22:00.

Farman Salmanov was born in Shamkir, studied at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and later, continued his activity in Siberia, Russia.

The discovery of many oil fields in Siberia is connected with the name of this Azerbaijani. The record of the Azerbaijani, who went down in history as the discoverer of more than 150 oil fields, has not been renewed yet. 

Although honorable citizen of the U.S. (the State of Texas) and the People’s Republic of China Farman Salmanov was posthumously awarded plenty of prizes, he faced a lot of injustice while he was alive.

Currently, tens of avenues, streets, planes, ships, as well as an airport in Russia are named after him.
