65 years, 65 interviewees, 65 minutes... – Interesting documentary on creation of AzTV

February 14th National Television Day in Azerbaijan. A documentary has been made in connection with the 65th anniversary of Azerbaijan Television.

According to the Social Media and PR Department of “Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting” CJSC, the preparation and shooting of the “Mehdi Huseyn street 1” documentary have lasted for approximately 4 months.

The opinions of 65 interviewees are presented in the documentary. Archival footages have been widely used in the 65-minute film. The role of the radio until the creation of the TV, the initial development stages of the Television, the participation of cinema experts in this and other events have been chronologically presented in “Mehdi Huseyn street 1”.

The main storyline of the documentary is that the 95-year-old Teleradio has become the witness and participant of three wars: by the radio in the Great Patriotic War, by the TV channel in the First Karabakh War and Patriotic War.

It is noteworthy that the first TV in the East started operating in 1956 in Azerbaijan. Baku Television Studio went on air for the first time on February 14, 1956. On the first air day, late actress Najiba Malikova appeared on screen and began her speech with the words “Baku is showing”. On that day, the “Bakhtiyar” movie was broadcast on TV.

The scriptwriters are Rufat Hamzayev and Ulviyya Heydarova, director – Elnur Mammadov and cameramen – Javid Aliyev and Ogtay Gasimov.

“Mehdi Huseyn street 1” will go on air on AzTV on February 14 at 22:40.
