Motherland starts with a handful of soil... We say "life can be sacrificed, but Motherland cannot be". Hero of the 44-day war Aykhan Valiyev has also sacrificed his life for this motto. He has given up on his dreams, wishes and youth for the sake of the Motherland. In reality, he has gained immortality with his death. 

His relatives talk about him with pride. Martyr Aykhan Valiyev was a brave, courageous, patriotic son.

Aykhan was the only son of his family. He was the only brother of his two sisters. He could have been their support after their father. However, he supported his Motherland and became a martyr in Shusha. 

His mother Rafiga Valiyeva says that the family gave two martyrs in one day: "He went together with my son-in-law; they became martyrs in one day. I am proud of both of them.. There was no place on the bus, Aykhan was told, "The second bus would arrive, why are you worried?!"

The courageous son of Aghstafa's Daghkasaman village was an exemplary soldier during his military service. He received a letter of gratitude from the corps command.
